Art that Heals: "Bear Witness" the Second Original in the Intentions x Chappe 2023 Pride Collection

Updated: Jun 10, 2023

Art has a transformative power that reaches beyond words, allowing emotions to be expressed and stories to be shared. The Intentions x Chappe Collection is about just that: celebrating authentic self expression and building safe spaces to be witnessed in community. You can shop the entire collection online at Chappe Shop or visit our vendor booth at Pride on the Block on June 3rd, 2023 from 1-11pm.

This collection brings together the talents of Lawrence Chappe, an artist and Creative Director, and Dani Sullivan, LCSW, a therapist, writer, and educator, to create a space where art and healing intertwine. With 15% of the proceeds supporting Transinclusive Group's Emergency Crisis Fund, this collection aims to provide vital mutual aid to the Trans community in South Florida.

When art merges with therapy, the results can be profound. In the Intentions x Chappe 2023 Pride Collection, we are proud to present the second original one of a kind piece of this collaboration: "Bear Witness."

The Power of "Bear Witness"

"Bear Witness" is a testament to the raw and vulnerable nature of being seen and heard. This piece embodies the painful joy of sharing our stories and bearing witness to one another's experiences. Through its striking visuals and intricate details, "Bear Witness" invites viewers to reflect on their own journey of self-discovery, healing, and resilience. It serves as a reminder that by truly seeing and being seen, we can find solace, connection, and empowerment.

Bearing Witness requires safe, affirming spaces for someone to share their story, without trying to fix or change it.

Merging Art and Therapy: The collaboration between Lawrence Chappe of Chappe Studio and Dani Sullivan of Intentions Therapy highlights the powerful convergence of art and therapy. Lawrence's artistic vision and skillful craftsmanship bring forth emotions and narratives that transcend language. Dani's expertise in therapy and understanding of human experiences provide a depth of meaning to the artwork. Together, they create a synergistic blend that invites viewers to explore their own emotions, reflect on their stories, and find healing through the visual medium.

Supporting Transinclusive Group's Emergency Crisis Fund:

A core pillar of the Intentions x Chappe 2023 Pride Collection is the commitment to support and uplift the Trans community in Florida. By donating 15% of the proceeds to Transinclusive Group's Emergency Crisis Fund, we aim to provide vital mutual aid directly to Trans individuals in South Florida. Transinclusive Group is a Transgender-Led LGBTQ+ non-profit organization, that has been tirelessly advocating for equality, ending discrimination, and addressing social determinants of health for Transgender and LGBQ+ individuals. With a particular focus on serving people of color, Transinclusive Group's work is essential in creating a more inclusive and equitable society.

The Intentions x Chappe 2023 Pride Collection is more than just a collaboration; it is a celebration of the healing power of art, the transformative nature of therapy, and the resilience of the Trans community. Through "Bear Witness" and the entire collection, we invite you to embark on a journey of self-reflection, empathy, and connection. Together, let us bear witness to each other's stories, celebrate diversity, and work towards a world where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
